    Position Details:

    Hartford Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join their inpatient endocrinology team. Duties include managing inpatient diabetes of complex endocrinology populations across all service lines and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for implementation of treatment and discharge planning. Seeking a provider with diabetes, endocrine, or inpatient experience; inpatient diabetes experience is preferred but not required. Schedule requires weekend coverage only, with mandatory schedule flexibility during the onboarding and training period.

    Role: Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners

    Location: 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, CT 06102

    Setting: Inpatient, Department of Medicine - Endocrinology

    Schedule: Per diem, minimum 2 weekends per month. 5-10 hours per shift.

    Call schedule: No call

    Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Role Scope:

    Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.

    In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

    Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the providers practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.


    Qualifications


    Requirements:

    Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)

    Training: APRN (Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant

    Experience:1+ years experience in an endocrinology setting
