End User Computing Support Technician
Reno, NV (onsite)
3+Month Contract
Provides end-user technology support with a primary focus on the lifecycle replacement, deployment, configuration, and support of workstation hardware, laptops, peripheral equipment, and related software. Responds to end-user requests and technical issues while supporting NV Energy endpoint devices, productivity applications, and collaboration tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages lifecycle replacement activities for end-user hardware, including desktop workstations, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripheral equipment.
- Responds to end-user inquiries and support requests related to lifecycle replacement activities, software installation, system access, and hardware/software evaluation.
- Installs, configures, images, deploys, and supports end-user computing devices.
- Uses work order and ticket management systems to document, track, prioritize, and resolve user requests and technical issues.
- Provides support for endpoint devices connected to the NV Energy network.
- Troubleshoots hardware, software, connectivity, and end-user application issues and works with users to achieve timely resolution.
- Assists in evaluating and recommending system modifications or configuration changes designed to reduce recurring user issues and improve the end-user experience.
- Provides support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Participates in user acceptance testing and implementation activities related to new hardware, software, system upgrades, or technology changes.
- Assists in developing documentation, procedures, instructions, and communications for both Information Technology personnel and end users.
- Provides professional and responsive customer service while working directly with employees at varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Under supervision, prepares and presents reports, status updates, and other information to management as requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience using IT service management or ticketing software. Experience with Remedy is preferred; experience with comparable ticketing platforms is acceptable.
- Experience with workstation imaging and deployment technologies. Experience with Microsoft SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager and/or Microsoft Windows Autopilot is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office productivity applications.
- Experience troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware, software, peripherals, and common end-user technology issues.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple service requests and assignments.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an IT support team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting end-user computing environments within a large corporate or enterprise organization.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
- Experience performing hardware refreshes, device migrations, or enterprise lifecycle replacement projects.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established processes while identifying opportunities for process or system improvement.
