Pay Rate: $21.00 an hour

SUMMARY: To provide emergency medical services to team members and guests. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to requests for medical assistance
  • Assess medical situations, provide basic life support and advanced variances
  • Perform drug and alcohol screenings
  • Complete inventory review and inspect equipment
  • Provide basic health services
  • Assist with CPR and First Aid training

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Minnesota State Emergency Medical Technician License/Certificate
  • 18 months experience actively working as an EMT

Preferred:

  • Basic Life Support instructor for American Heart Association

Skills

Required:

  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Required:

  • Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
  • Ability to serve both internal and external customers
  • Ability to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voice
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional manner
  • Ability to present materials to groups of people
  • Ability to prepare complete, concise reports

REQUIRED TRAINING

  • Treasure Island guest service training
  • Bloodborne Pathogens training
  • Advanced skills training such as IVs, medication administration, laryngoscope and magil forceps, AED, nebulizer, etc.
  • Department orientation
  • Any training required to keep license up-to-date
  • Any position-related training as determined by department manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to walk and / or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day
  • Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
  • Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
  • Must be able to reach and twist routinely
  • Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
  • Must have the ability to independently lift, drag or pull 110 pounds in short duration
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Must have good eye hand coordination
  • Must be able to work 12-hours shifts independently

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Occasionally overtime may be required
  • Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
