Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Emergency Medical Services Teaching Faculty member will teach EMS and/or Fire Science-related courses in classroom, online, and laboratory settings and supervise limited clinical rotations as needed. Faculty loads are normally scheduled at an average of 15 credits per semester; however, due to cohort scheduling, this position may have opportunities to teach during the summer semesters based on student interest and program needs. Teaching schedules may include day and evening classes, dual enrollment courses with local high schools, and other instructional assignments as needed to support program operations. The faculty member will collaborate in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of classroom and laboratory instruction; provide related services and support activities that promote student learning and effective educational programming; and maintain a minimum of 10 student engagement hours per week, including advising and collateral duty assignments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration on departmental and interdisciplinary initiatives.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

This is a restricted position that is dependent upon funding. The availability of funding is scheduled to end on June 30, 2029, but may be extended based on the continuation of funding. Continued employment is contingent upon funding availability.
