What Youll Do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan under the direction of the Vice President of Student Affairs
- Develop curriculum and provide non-credit instruction of the EMS continuing education classes
Continuing Education
- Works with the Continuing Education Director for duties, contracted hours, and reviews course and contracted training to ensure deliverables are being met
- Provides curriculum development, revision of non-credit EMS courses, and participates in course assessment
- Deliver EMS courses for Continuing Education related professional development classes and workforce training for business and industry, and in-house
- Participate in professional development activities
- Collaborate with CE Director to develop course schedules for programs in the area of EMS training
- Design and develop training materials and programs appropriate to the industry and client needs, ensuring the learning environment and resources support learner needs
Student Affairs
- Develops a risk assessment process to identify potential risks and hazards for the BSC campus.
- Establishes a formalized disaster-specific related goals and objectives for each significant emergency incident
- Develops formalized training requirements for BSC emergency response personnel
- Identifies minimum exercise (i.e., fire drills) requirements related to conducting and reviewing exercises in the EOP.
- Develops policies for reviewing and revising the Emergency Operations Plan
- Develops a comprehensive Continuity of Operations Plan.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Supports innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department(s) and as a whole for the college.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Current & Emerging Technologies and the Vice President for Student Affairs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate bachelors degree and Paramedic credentials.
- Two to five years of experience with major responsibilities, including training
- Demonstrated teaching/training ability in the classroom setting, as well as one-to-one consultation
- Demonstrated expertise in a broad area of Emergency Medical Services
- Experience developing and conducting training programs
- Understanding of general practices of CE, including sales, operations, and marketing practices.
- Ability to organize and meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with diverse personalities with all levels of EMS experience
- Ability to work under pressure on a variety of projects simultaneously
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Higher education teaching experience
- More than two years of related experience
