Employment SpecialistCapitol City Residential Health CareReports to: Supported Employment ManagerClassification: Non-Exempt | Full-TimePosition SummaryThe Employment Specialist supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities(IDD) in obtaining and maintaining meaningful, competitive, and integrated employment in thecommunity. This role involves direct service, advocacy, job development, coaching, andcollaboration with families, employers, and interdisciplinary teams.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide Discovery and Exploration services to help individuals identify vocationalinterests and strengths Assist with job development including resume building, applications, mock interviews,and transportation planning Support individuals during job searches, interviews, and initial onboarding Deliver on-the-job coaching, task analysis, and skill-building support Monitor job performance and collaborate with employers to ensure success Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and data collection per agency andfunding requirements (ECF CHOICES, 1915(c), etc.) Participate in Person-Centered Planning meetings, ISP development, and support teams Educate employers and coworkers on reasonable accommodations and disabilityawareness Maintain knowledge of community resources, labor market trends, and vocationalrehabilitation services Ensure all services align with DIDD and MCO standards, TennCare policies, and internalproceduresQualifications High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Education, or related field preferred Minimum 1 year of experience in supported employment, job coaching, or vocationalservices Familiarity with ECF CHOICES, Discovery/Exploration, and Medicaid waiver servicespreferred Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple caseloads Proficiency with electronic documentation and Microsoft Office or Therap Must pass all background and credentialing checks as required by Capitol City and stateregulations Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance requiredWork Conditions This is a field-based position involving regular travel to client homes, workplaces, andcommunity locations Flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends depending on participantneeds Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs occasionallyCore Competencies Advocacy & Empowerment Community Engagement Disability Competency Confidentiality and Ethics Professionalism and Accountability
