Role Description
We are seeking one (1) Mid-Level Employment Associate Attorney with 4–6 years of experience handling employment litigation matters under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) to join our employment litigation team. This role is ideal for an attorney with strong experience prosecuting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, disability accommodation, and leave-related claims who is ready to take on increased responsibility while continuing to develop under the guidance of a Team Leader/Partner, with a clear path toward future leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in prosecuting FEHA matters from pre-litigation through settlement or trial
- Handle cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, disability accommodation, interactive process, and leave-related claims
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents
- Prepare for and take depositions, including defending client depositions
- Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients on case strategy and execution
- Independently handle court appearances, mediations, and tactical litigation tasks
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals as needed
- Support the Team Leader/Partner in advancing complex employment litigation matters
Qualifications- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active and good-standing membership with the California State Bar
- Strong experience as an employment attorney litigating FEHA claims on behalf of employees
- 1-3 years of experience for junior associate attorney
- 4-6 years of experience for associate attorney
- Experience handling discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, disability accommodation, interactive process, and leave-related matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
