    Description

    Responsible for the evaluation, follow-up, and ongoing care of employees and non-employees as required, including pre-employment evaluations and related health records and reports.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Assesses work-related injuries and illnesses, treating injury or referring according to protocol and assisting with follow-up as needed.
    • Insures that all OSHA required lab tests, immunizations, TB precautions and fit testing are completed on new employees.
    • Maintains TB screening program per OSHA mandates.
    • Implements OSHA requirements as recommended for employees.
    • Assists with assessing employee's work environment, related conditions, initiating work site evaluations, and insuring changes are made when possible.
    • Assists with assigned tasks related to the Workers' Compensation process or employee leave of absences.
    • Participates in employee's education as required by OSHA guidelines (i.e., BBP pathogens, TB, etc.) for new employees as well as an annual review for all employees.
    • Completes and maintains files, records, reports, logs, investigations, and forms as required.
    • Acts as a liaison between employees on leave (work related and non-work related), Human Resources Department, and the employee's department.
    • Assesses exposures (i.e., blood borne exposure) and insuring appropriate evaluation and follow-up is completed per OSHA, CDC guidelines and MGL protocol.
    • Maintains current knowledge of all regulatory agency recommendations and guidelines.
    • Performs other duties as requested or directed.

    Required:

    • Associate degree from an accredited nursing school.

    • State licensed as a registered nurse.

    • Three years nursing experience in emergency, occupational health, urgent care, or employee health.

    • BLS certification

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
