    Emergency Veterinarian (DVM) – Leadership Role – Sugar Land, Texas

     

    A veterinary specialty and emergency hospital is seeking a Lead Emergency Veterinarian to join its team. This role combines clinical emergency care with leadership responsibilities, offering an opportunity to guide a team while maintaining hands-on involvement in patient care.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide emergency medical care to patients during scheduled clinical shifts

    • Oversee daily operations of the emergency department in collaboration with leadership

    • Manage scheduling and coordination of the emergency veterinarian team

    • Mentor, support, and guide veterinarians and support staff

    • Assist in developing and implementing protocols, workflows, and quality standards

    • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to hospital initiatives

    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment

     

    Qualifications

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution

    • Active or eligible veterinary license

    • Minimum of 3 years of emergency veterinary experience preferred

    • Strong clinical skills in managing a wide range of emergency cases

    • Leadership experience or interest in a leadership role

    • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
