The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice. Overview: Our free, confidential and voluntary, 13-bed shelter serves youth, 12-17 years old, for up to 30 days. Counselors provide nonjudgmental, individualized support to help youth reunite with their families or find alternative, stable housing.Schedule: Full time. SHIFT 1: Sunday 8am-3pm, Monday 8am-3pm, Tuesday 2pm-10pm, Wednesday12pm -10pm, Saturday 8am-3pmSHIFT 2: Sunday 2pm-10pm, Monday 3pm-9:30pm, Tuesday 2pm-10pm, Wednesday 12-10pm, Thursday 3pm-10pmResponsibilities:Supervision of: wake-up, clean-up, daily chores and bedtimeDistribution of medications and appropriate documentationLiaison with Intake and Emergency Shelter Support (Counseling) teamsIndividual counseling and mentoringAfter-hour response, assessment and intake of youth in needDevelopment and supervision of social, cultural and recreational activitiesCrisis/conflict/prevention/intervention, response and interventionMaintenance of accurate and timely program recordsMaintenance of facility and groundsDaily meal planning and preparationRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field AND 1-2 years' experience in a residential youth program OR Equivalent A valid Driver's license Skills: Counseling approaches and techniquesCrisis preventionPay Rate: $20- $21 per hour The Center for Youth Provides Equal Employment Opportunities
