Job Summary:

Working under the Associate Director of Emergency Services, the Emergency Services Clinical Practice Coordinator (ESCPC) will facilitate coordination between teams caring for the emergency department patients to ensure exceptional outcomes. The ESCPC will collaborate with regional and national experts in advanced emergency care. The ESCPC will function as the nursing quality coordinator and assist with education for the emergency department nursing staff. The ESCPC will lead and/or assist with system-wide emergency department initiatives as identified by the director. The ESCPC demonstrates the ability to sustain effective relationships with Nursing and other interdisciplinary colleagues. The ESCPC demonstrates comprehensive quality nursing care and will assist the emergency service team to deliver best-practice/high quality care, regulatory standards, certification, and accreditation. The ESCPC will collaborate with Emergency Quality, Emergency and ICU shared governance committees regarding interpretation of quality metrics to identify and implement quality improvement processes as well as streamline and improve care. The ESCPC exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed RN (or eligible), Master of Nursing degree, and three or more years of emergency department RN experience. Clinical expertise in emergency care including trauma, burn, stroke, and critically ill patients. Excellent written/verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. CPR-BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified.

Preferred Qualifications:

TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Work Days:

Monday-Friday days. Eve/night as needed on rare occasions.
