Connected Health Care is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for an 8-week travel nursing contract in the Fairfield, Mount Vernon, and Mount Carmel, Illinois area. This is a great opportunity for an ER nurse looking for a shorter-term assignment, consistent hours, and hospital-based emergency department experience.
Position Details
Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Location: Fairfield / Mount Vernon / Mount Carmel, Illinois area
Setting: Hospital / Emergency Department
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
Hours: 36 hours scheduled per week
Pay: Up to $61/hour
Provide emergency nursing care to patients with a wide range of acute and emergent conditions
Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing patient monitoring
Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments
Assist with trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and other critical-care situations
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge plans
Follow hospital safety, infection-control, and emergency department protocols
Education & Certification Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Active Illinois RN license or ability to obtain prior to start
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current PALS certification preferred or required based on facility guidelines
TNCC certification preferred
Previous Emergency Room / Emergency Department nursing experience strongly preferred
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
