Emergency Room Nurse - Contract

Required Clinical Skills: IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy and IV insertion/maintenance. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS required at submission), PALS, TNCC*.

Schedule: Night Shift 3*12s 36hours/week

• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM

• Contract: 13 weeks

• Experience: First-time travelers accepted

• License: Active NY single-state RN license required; pending license not accepted

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS required at submission), PALS, TNCC*

• Charting: Epic experience required

• Weekend: Every other weekend

• Holidays: Every other holiday, if needed

• RTO/Block: Submit requests at the time of submission

• Cancellation Policy: Up to 3 shifts may be canceled during the 13-week contract without charges

• Local Rule: RNs within 75 miles are not accepted

• Ratios: 1:5

• Floating: Required within skill set

• Scrubs: Any combination of navy blue and white

Required Clinical Skills:

• IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy and IV insertion/maintenance

• IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management

• Stroke (CVA), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury and TBI

• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management

• Adult/pediatric emergency care, gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma

• Triage, isolation precautions and pediatric spinal cord injury

Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with all types of emergency diagnoses.

Special Equipment: Bair Hugger, rapid infuser and safe patient handling equipment.
