Job Title Emergency Resource Technician

Type: Full-Time Permanent
Wage Rate: Step 1 - $20.35
Hours: 12 Hour Shifts, Night Shift-6PM to 6AM; 2 On/2 Off, Every other weekend off
OPPORTUNITY FOR TRANSFERS AVAILABLE
Probationary Period: 1 Year
Bargaining Unit Position: Yes; FOP
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)
Work experience in emergency dispatching is preferred but not necessary. We offer training in-house to help you succeed in becoming a dispatcher.
Must have a high school education or equivalent and no criminal convictions. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
Essential qualities for a 911 Dispatcher include active listening skills, multi-tasking, good written and verbal communication. Dispatchers need to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency while remaining calm. Under supervision, this job requires the Dispatcher to operate a radio and computer equipment, while processing phone calls and radio traffic.
