Job Description Summary: Reports to the Department Head and is responsible for facilitating patient flow in the department by coordinating staff activities and ensuring proper resource utilization. Supervises and delegates triage responsibilities. Provides direct nursing care to neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.

Leadership Responsibility: The Coordinator is a licensed professional nurse responsible for and organizing the delivery of patient care and teaching through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Coordinator also directs and guides activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing, and the established policies and procedures of the hospital. The Coordinator nurse serves in a leadership role as a shift coordinator. Assists in staff evaluations, QI projects and special projects as assigned.
