Description

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Full-Time Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Emergency Department at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Connecticut. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to practice in a collaborative, high-volume emergency medicine setting while enjoying flexible scheduling and strong interdisciplinary support.

About the Opportunity

• Evaluate and manage a diverse population of mixed-acuity emergency department patients within a recently renovated Emergency Department serving approximately 40,000 annual patient visits.
• Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, behavioral health specialists, case managers, and rehabilitation services to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
• Enjoy a flexible rotating schedule with day and night shifts, no overnight requirements, and no call responsibilities, supporting an exceptional work-life balance.
• Practice in a technologically advanced environment utilizing Epic EMR, Dragon dictation, and Ambience AI documentation support tools.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active or eligible Connecticut Physician Assistant or APRN licensure.
• DEA and Connecticut controlled substance registration, or eligibility to obtain.
• Minimum of one year of Advanced Practice experience required; Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience strongly preferred.
