Provides comprehensive health care services for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients at Wrangell Medical Center and serves as a community liaison and referral physician for communities and clinics throughout Southeast Alaska.
Requires high level decision making for patients of all ages, from neonates to laboring patients to adults. Works, frequently as the sole provider, to ensure that health care delivered throughout the facility is of the highest quality. Covers multiple areas of the facility at the same time, responsible for all patients on the premises.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range 0.5 - 0.75 FTE: $99,360 - $154,560 annual salary.
Financial Incentives 0.75 FTE: Geographical differential stipend of $20,625, a $22,500 sign-on bonus, and $15,000 relocation stipend.

Schedule and Work-Life Balance:
Schedule: Flexible shift-based model with one-week blocks, covering days, and evenings.
Shift Obligation: 0.5 FTE: 9 shifts monthly & 0.75 FTE: 14 shifts monthly
Day shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Evening shift: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Call structure: Night call from 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM (not required to be onsite).
Call Back Rate: $138 per hour
Critical Access Hospital Facilities:
4-bed Emergency Department
8-bed inpatient unit
18-bed long-term care unit
Level IV Trauma Center and Pediatric Emergency Ready facility
Onsite imaging (CT, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, Dexa) and lab services
Physical rehab services (PT, OT, SLP) and pharmacy support
Average daily volumes: With Meditech EMR, Dragon, and DAX CoPilot
ED census: ~3 patients
Inpatient census: ~1 patient
Rehab census: ~3 patients
Support Staff:
1 MD/APP per shift covering ED and inpatient.
3 RNs per shift (ED, Med-Surg, LTC).
Access to urgent and specialty care via telemedicine or transfer to SEARHC facilities.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of post-graduate provider experience in emergency room required.
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant degree and board certified.
Alaska Medical License issued by the Alaska State Medical Board.
Required certifications: ACLS, ALSO, ATLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Provides appropriate clinical health care services to the emergency room, acute care, and long-term care patients of Wrangell Medical Center. Provides clinical support for outpatient care as requested such as provider inbox coverage and after-hours virtual care. Care includes evaluations, clinical analysis, and recommendation and delivery of complex therapies and treatments. Includes delivery of health care services to patients of all ages, including newborn, infant, child, adolescent, pregnant, adult and geriatric patients.
