UnityPoint Health - Sioux City provides coordinated clinic, hospital and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. St. Luke's offers a full range of services and programs that includes a state-of-the-art surgical center, Siouxland's premier birth center, 24/7 cardiovascular care, and Level III emergency department. In addition, UnityPoint Health - Sioux City is also home to St. Luke's College which provides high-quality, health system-based education to individuals looking for careers in health care.

Responsibilities
Hybrid position working a mix of shifts in the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU)
ED: 9-hour shifts Monday -Friday (8a-5p, 11a-9p, 10p-7a)
ED: 12-hour shifts Saturday - Sunday (7a-7p, 7p-7a)
Clinic Decision Unit: 6-hour shifts Monday - Friday (8a-2p)
0.9 FTE = 72 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)
Annual ED visit volume = 33,000
Average ED patients per day = 89
Average 1.2-1.6 patients per hour in ED
40 hours of physician coverage & 27 hours of APP coverage per day in ED
Level 3 Trauma Center
22 bed ED + 12 bed clinical decision unit + 10 bed fast track + 2 trauma bays
APP's manage CDU with physician oversight
Integral part of the Emergency Medicine team
Ability to see broad range of patient complaints and practice to top of your license
No call, good work/life balance
Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
