Tri-Rivers Career Center Adult Education is actively accepting applications for our Winter/Spring 2027 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program.
This 170-hour, hands-on training program prepares students with the knowledge, clinical skills, and confidence needed to provide lifesaving care in emergency situations. EMT training can be your first step toward a career in emergency medical services, fire service, healthcare, or paramedicine.
Tri-Rivers' Public Safety Training Program is accredited by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS (Accreditation #329).
Students receive instructor-led classroom instruction combined with extensive hands-on skills training, including:
Patient assessment
Airway management
Bleeding control and trauma care
Basic anatomy and physiology
Medical emergencies
CPR and emergency response
Patient stabilization and transport
The program follows the U.S. Department of Transportation National EMS Education Standards and Ohio Division of EMS requirements.

End Date: May 2027
Evening Classes:
Tuesdays & Thursdays
5:00 PM – 9:30 PM
First & Third Saturdays:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Upon successful completion of the program and the required National Registry Practical and Cognitive Examinations, graduates are eligible to become certified as an Ohio Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Applicants must complete an application and pay a $95 non-refundable application fee to reserve a seat.
Applicants must also complete WorkKeys® assessments with a score of 4 or higher in:
Graphic Literacy
Workplace Documents
Applied Math
Estimated Total Program Cost: $1,684
This includes:
Tuition & Lab Fees: $1,190
Application Fee: $95
EMS Testing Access: $49
Estimated Textbook Package: $350
Half of tuition is due before the first day of class, and flexible payment plan options are available. Program costs are subject to change.
