ER Medical Director Veterinarian (DVM) – Central Valley CA | Small Animal ER | $250,000 – $275,000 Base + Sign-On Bonus Up to $100K

A well-established veterinary hospital in Turlock, California is seeking a Medical Director (DVM) to lead a team delivering high-quality emergency and urgent care to pets and families in the surrounding community. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to support and mentor fellow veterinarians, help maintain strong medical standards, and partner with hospital leadership to foster a positive and collaborative practice environment, while continuing to practice emergency medicine.

About the Hospital & ER Environment

This hospital offers a well-supported emergency and urgent care environment where veterinarians can practice high-level medicine with the support of experienced colleagues and a skilled 24-hour technical team. The modern 8,500 sq. ft. facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, allowing doctors to efficiently manage a wide range of emergency cases.

  • State-of-the-art equipment including Snyder oxygen unit, digital & portable radiography, ultrasound, and rigid endoscopy
  • Two fully equipped surgical suites for emergency procedures
  • Fully remodeled in-house IDEXX laboratory for rapid diagnostics
  • Five exam rooms supporting efficient patient flow
  • 24-hour technician and support staff coverage
  • Daily case rounding and collaboration with experienced veterinarians

This collaborative environment allows doctors to practice fast-paced emergency medicine with the tools, support, and teamwork needed to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited veterinary school
  • Eligible for or currently licensed to practice veterinary medicine in California
  • TN visa sponsorship supported for qualified veterinarians from Canada and Mexico
