Dedicate at least 50% of time to nuclear planning and training efforts Responsible for assisting, as necessary, the planners in the Office of Emergency Management for preparedness to natural and man-made disaster or emergencies impacting the population of the County Assist the Nuclear Planner, in preparing emergency plans as it relates to nuclear incident preparedness Assist with training and exercises in preparation for biennial federally-evaluated nuclear plant exercises Assist with the dissemination of information to municipalities, school districts, hospitals, long term care facilities, nursing homes, and day care centers on nuclear preparedness topics Assist with MS-1 hospital and EMS trainings and exercises Possess basic understanding in the use of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Understand the use of radiological instrumentation and incidents Assist with the management, and update of the York County Special Needs Registry Assist with the development and organization of exercises for County EOC staff Assist with the coordination of County shelter planning with VOAD and local EMAs Be accountable to the Coordinator for ADA policies, sexual harassment policies and appropriate use of computer policies Other duties as assigned by the Director or Deputy Director
Certified radiological officer assisting county OEM staff and working with the municipalities in the 10 mile Emergency Planning Zones (EPZ) for the two nuclear power plants for training, preparedness and response during actual incidents and federally evaluated exercises.
Knowledge of emergency services operations a plus High degree of communication, training and team building skills
