    Description

    Performs responsible, administrative work within the OEM. Executes technical planning and scheduling for community outreach for all-hazard preparedness, organizational preparedness, and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Serves as the Office's Training and Exercise Coordinator responsible for all program areas, including creation of the Integrated Preparedness Plan, exercise program, and evaluation and corrective action program. Assists with the coordination and management of related Office functions/programs. Reviews and revises plans; works on assigned projects to analyze, prevent, or solve operational problems, determines appropriate courses of action, or offers pertinent solutions to management. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed by an administrative superior through conferences, reports, and evaluation of results achieved.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

    • A Bachelors Degree in Emergency Management, Public/Business Administration, or related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience in the administration and planning of emergency operations and procedures,

    OR

    • An Associate's Degree in Emergency Management, Public/Business Administration, or related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in the administration and planning of emergency operations and procedures,

    OR

    • An unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of three (3) years of experience in the administration and planning of emergency operations and procedures,

    OR

    • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) years of experience in the administration and planning of emergency operations and procedures.

    NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    The selected candidate for this position MUST complete the following:

    • National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses: IS-100, IS-700, IS-800, and IS-2200 within 6 months of hire, AND
    • NIMS training courses: G-191, G-300, and G-2300 within 11 months of hire.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • Experience with emergency management operations and/or projects,
    • Experience coordinating training programs,
    • Experience using WebEOC software (must specify on application), and
    • Knowledge of NIMS and/or Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliance.
