    Description

    Work Schedule and Shift Premiums

    • Full Time | 1200 to 0030 | 36 hours / three 12-hour shifts per week including every other weekend and Christmas Eve / Christmas Day on a rotation 
    • 2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour
    • Weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour

    Requirements / Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institution
    • CNA, EMT-Advanced, or EMT-Paramedic certification required
    • CPI and BLS required | Life certification courses provided free of charge on-site at the hospital
    • Good phone, computer, clerical and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail
    • Must possess a positive attitude toward patients and coworkers
    • Must be a team player

    Responsibilities

    • Provides prompt and efficient services to Emergency Department patients
    • Identifies and acts on the needs of patients in a positive, polite, compassionate, and timely manner
    • Has knowledge of the patient’s condition and plan of care and assists under the direction of the RN and physician
    • Effectively performs basic nursing care procedures: weights, dressing changes, Foley insertion and removal, start and removal of IV lines, applying warm/cold compresses, simple NG care, blood glucose testing, etc.
    • Collects patient specimens (e.g. urine, blood, stool, sputum), labels and sends to the laboratory in a timely fashion
    • Maintains accurate records within the chart: graphic, intake and output, lab draws, IV starts, and appropriate patient care documentation
    • Answers the telephone in a friendly manner, takes messages, and directs calls
    • Performs clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, transfers, etc. Inputs computer data
    • Promptly and accurately recognizes and reports all concerns and abnormal findings. Demonstrates the ability and willingness to advocate for the patient
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned
