    Description

    eero is looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead a Connectivity - platform engineering team.

    This leader will work across the entire device software stack from the bootloader all the way to the management plane in Golang, RUST and Python. This role will require an extremely technical engineering manager who can understand the details of building a product from the ground up. Unsurprisingly, this team"s work is integral in delivering our core product experience.

    Key job responsibilities

    • You lead a team of Embedded SW Engineers (SDEs) driving bring-up and platform support.
    • Your team programs and debugs in C, Python, Go, RUST among other areas.
    • Provide hands-on technical leadership to the team, including your own code contributions and meticulous code reviews
    • Hire, lead, and coach a team of high performing engineers tasked with improving eeroOS and supporting platform/bringup work.
    • Empower the team to regularly deliver high impact customer features on tight timelines.
    • Build detailed schedules and technical requirements from high level product descriptions.
    • Communicate status in an understandable way to a wide range of audiences.
    • Estimate delivery dates with confidence intervals based on the measured team velocity, remaining work, and projected new work.
    • Identify, champion, and deliver the highest impact engineering investments that your team needs in order to continue to deliver in the long term.
    • Implement process improvements for both your own and surrounding teams.
    • Analyze performance and stability data from our testing and production populations to catch regressions and validate new features.
    • Manage headcount projections, recruiting, and continuous performance evaluations.
    • Monitor, drive and facilitate individual growth of your team"s individual contributors

This role has a little bit of everything which keeps it challenging and fun.

    About the team

    The platform team is responsible for all software that goes on eero hardware whether it be low level firmware to userspace applications. Our goal is to deliver the ultimate connectivity experience to our customers. We work closely with Customer Experience, Product, Cloud, QA, Hardware, Product Analytics, and Manufacturing Operations.
