Description

Embedded Software Engineer – Fire Control

We are hiring an Embedded Software Engineer for our client located in the Sterling Heights, MI area. The person hired for this position will support the development and integration of embedded software for a next-generation ground combat vehicle program.

No C2C, subcontracting, or visa sponsorship is available for this position.


Key Requirements
  • Must have Fire Control experience
  • 7+ years of related software engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible.
  • 100% onsite in Sterling Heights, MI
  • 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and debug embedded software.
  • Perform software requirements analysis and develop software architecture and design documentation.
  • Develop software for vehicle systems including fire control, displays, power management, diagnostics, software deployment, and embedded training.
  • Develop unit and functional test procedures and perform hardware/software integration.
  • Integrate software releases across multiple software components.
  • Troubleshoot software issues throughout development and testing.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Project Management, Software Quality, and other technical teams.
  • Lead Agile/Scrum activities including daily standups, PI Planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations.
Required Technical Skills
  • C, C++, C#, Java, and/or Python
  • Git and Bitbucket
  • VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, virtualization, and/or BSPs
  • Serial and network protocols including RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, and UDP/IP
  • DDS, Kafka, or other publish/subscribe middleware
  • Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN)
  • Ground combat vehicle network architectures
  • Agile software development
Preferred Experience
  • Defense industry experience
  • NGVA / UKGVA
  • GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, or FACE
  • Hypervisors and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Multicast networking
  • Embedded vehicle systems and architectures
Pay Rate: $58 – $65 / hour  W2
