    Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop software and firmware for advanced broadcast, video, audio, and RF-based hardware systems. This position involves close integration with custom electronics, embedded processors, control interfaces, and video transport technologies.

    The engineer will contribute throughout the full development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, programming, hardware bring-up, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing product support.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop embedded software and firmware using C, C++, and assembly language
    • Build real-time, multithreaded, and bare-metal applications for embedded processors
    • Support video, audio, RF/UHF processing, control systems, and related interfaces
    • Perform custom board bring-up, bootloader development, and hardware/software integration
    • Implement SPI, I2C, RS-232/485, CAN bus, and Ethernet communications
    • Read schematics and troubleshoot using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment
    • Develop desktop control, testing, and diagnostic applications using C#, C++, Python, and .NET
    • Participate in requirements, architecture, testing, deployment, and ongoing product support
    • Maintain source code and software configurations using Git

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent certifications and experience considered
    • 5+ years of combined embedded and desktop application development experience
    • Strong programming skills in C, C++, assembly language, C#, and Python
    • Experience with 8-bit and 32-bit processors, including ARM, Atmel AVR, or STM32
    • Knowledge of FreeRTOS or similar real-time operating systems, bare-metal programming, and inter-processor communication
    • Experience with .NET, WPF, Windows Forms, or ASP.NET
    • Hands-on experience with board bring-up, bootloaders, schematics, communication interfaces, and hardware test equipment
    • Video, audio, broadcast, or RF systems experience strongly preferred
    • Must be able to work onsite in Hanover, MD
