The Nextest Division of Teradyne, located in San Jose CA is currently looking for a Electro-Mechanical Engineer Intern to join the team.

Working with lead engineers, assisting in various areas of product development cycle. Concept, design, analysis, documentation, and prototype assembly of electro-mechanical systems, tooling and fixtures. Gain experience in areas of electrical mechanical design including PCB design, Embedded controller programming with an emphasis on mechanical system integration, wiring, and circuit design. The project areas include AC/ power distribution, system monitoring, and controls design.

  • Senior level Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering student (minimum) or equivalent
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in relevant engineering coursework
  • Familiar with schematic capture
  • 3D CAD using SolidWorks, certification a plus
  • Robotics design and assembly
  • Microcontroller programming, example Arduino or eq.
  • 3D printing

Desirable skills:

  • Team leadership skills and experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques (machining, sheet metal forming, injection molding, etc.)
  • Safe working knowledge of AC power and wiring
  • Experience with electronics and control systems.

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Compensation:

The base hourly range for this role is $25.50-$47.00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
