Location: San Francisco, CA (remote flexibility; PST timezone preferred)
Duration: 4+months | Part-time (~10 hours/week)

Overview
We’re hiring a senior Email Developer to be the technical owner of an AI-enabled email development system. You’ll work with Design, MarTech, and Engineering to turn Figma designs into production-ready email templates, build a modular component library, and implement QA and accessibility best practices. This is a hands-on, strategic contractor role focused on scaling infrastructure and improving developer tooling.
What you’ll do

• Lead architecture and development of a modular email component library using MJML or HTML.
• Build translation pipelines from design (Figma) to email HTML for Iterable and HubSpot.
• Implement QA processes to guarantee consistent rendering across major email clients (Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, iOS Mail).
• Ensure templates meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Deliver documentation, component usage guides, and a team training session.
• Support localization and personalization as needed (CJK considerations, international variants).

• 6–8+ years of email development experience.
• Deep HTML/CSS email expertise and MJML.
• Production experience with Iterable and/or HubSpot.
• Proven experience building and maintaining component libraries or email design systems.
• Strong Outlook rendering knowledge and dark mode experience.
• Excellent independent contributor skills and strong written communication.

• CJK localization experience, Figma-driven workflows, lifecycle marketing background, or AI tooling exposure.
