    Tower Rock, a beautiful elementary school situated in the bluffs outside of Sauk Prairie, is seeking an English Language Learner (ELL) education assistant. Through innovative curriculum, the school infuses agriculture, Spanish, and the arts, all while meeting Common Core State Standards. The modern building, together with a dynamic staff, serves students from varying backgrounds. Candidates must be willing to work with groups of students ages 4-11. Bilingual candidates preferred.

    Job Summary:

    This blended position will combine day school assistant work with after school club assistant work (hours: 8:45 am through 5:15 pm on school days). Day school responsibilities include working with groups of multilingual learners, assisting in the classroom, as well as lunch and recess duties. After school responsibilities include implementing the goals of the Community Learning Center grant as outlined by the Program Director. Primary responsibilities include working with a group of 12-14 students doing various educational and physical activities.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Assist in the planning and implementation of age appropriate activities.

    2. Supervise students in all program activities and ensure that students are under adult supervision at all times.

    3. Address the health and safety needs of program participants.

    4. Communicate regularly with other staff regarding program/student issues.

    5. Provide a nurturing environment for program participants.

    6. Maintain an orderly physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of program participants.

    7. Assist in the preparation of materials needed for daily activities.

    8. Attend required professional growth inservices, i.e. Blood borne Pathogens, Medication Distribution, and all required inservice workshops.

    9. Participate in job specific workshops and conferences when appropriate.

    10. Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures, i.e. fire, tornado, medical.

    11. Provide medication administration, storage and recording consistent with school district policies and under the direction of the Community Education Coordinator.

    12. Other duties as assigned.
