Elementary Teaching Assistant

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is seeking dedicated and passionateElementary Teaching Assistantsfor immediate openings for the 2026-2027 academic year and beyond. Join our team of committed educators and make a profound impact on the lives of our students.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers to support the implementation of lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and resources.
• Provide individual and small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.
• Support students with personal care and other specialized needs, as required.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and social-emotional development.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers and other team members to implement accommodations and modifications for students with special needs.
• Attend professional development sessions and staff meetings as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Education or related field or, Child Care Council Certification a plus).
• Experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and build positive relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student growth and development.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and interventions is an advantage.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Excellent daily attendance

This is a 10 month/ school year position.  Summer and after school program extra pay opportunities may be available.
