Are you a Special Education Teacher who enjoys creating individualized learning opportunities for students? Would you like to work with elementary students in a resource-room setting where targeted instruction and individualized support are central to the school day?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess student performance and document academic progress.
- Coordinate with educators, related service providers, and families.
- Implement educational plans and support progress toward IEP goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student-centered planning.
- Maintain organized records and required special education documentation.
- Promote student engagement, skill development, and increasing independence.
- Deliver targeted instruction to students in grades 3–5 within a resource-room setting.
- Adapt lessons, materials, and teaching methods to address individual learning needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Previous school-based special education experience is preferred.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an appropriate special education endorsement.
- Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) endorsement/credential appropriate for the students and grade levels served.
