    Position Details

    Qualifications:

    • Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement or be actively enrolled in a teacher certification program leading to an elementary teaching certificate with a special education endorsement
    • Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs
    • Strong organizational skills and effective classroom management strategies
    • Experience with co-teaching and inclusion models, preferred
    • Knowledge and experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), preferred

    Job Description:

    • Design and implement individualized instructional programs to meet the unique needs of students on caseload
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure accommodations and modifications allow students to fully access the curriculum
    • Actively participate in and contribute to the school's data-driven decision-making process to improve student outcomes
    • Provide ongoing professional development and support to general education staff regarding special education best practices, behavior management strategies, and inclusive teaching techniques
    • Secure and maintain a CPI endorsement and actively participate in the Crisis Prevention Intervention Team
    • Work closely with the behavior specialist and school support staff to implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) effectively
    • Utilize technology, evidence-based instructional practices, and interventions to enhance student learning and engagement
    • Monitor student progress through data collection and analysis to adjust instruction accordingly
    • Facilitate regular communication with parents and guardians, ensuring strong school-home partnerships
    • Foster a positive, equitable learning environment that meets students where they are while holding high expectations for growth
    • Other duties as assigned by the Principals, and/or designee
