Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with grade-level curriculum, standards, and district expectations to promote student learning and achievement.
- Plan and implement differentiated instruction that addresses the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of all learners.
- Implement evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading, including explicit and systematic instruction in foundational reading skills.
- Collaborate with the grade-level team and support staff to analyze student data, identify areas of need, plan responsive instruction, and monitor student progress.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation, independence, belonging, and a love of learning.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress, classroom learning, and ways to support student success.
- Establish and maintain developmentally appropriate classroom routines, expectations, and behavior supports
Essential Skills and/or Experience:
- Experience in elementary settings.
- Training and/or experience implementing the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy practices
Job Qualifications
Requirements:
- NYS Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) required OR
- NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) required
- NYS Literacy Certification (Birth-Grade 6), preferred
- Effective approximately from November 18, 2026, to March 1, 2027
