Position: CL-17 Elementary Clerk- Allendale

Role and Responsibilities

  • Shall maintain updated awareness of the school district administrative procedures, organization, policies, regulations, etc.
  • Shall epitomize the image of professional confidentiality, dependability, efficiency and integrity so necessary of all secretarial staff.
  • Shall be clerk to building principal.
  • Prepare agenda item materials on those areas of responsibilities of the elementary principal.
  • Types necessary correspondence for the elementary principal.
  • Available for attendance at meetings as requested by the principal.
  • Shall handle internal accounts, bookkeeping, and petty cash.
  • Shall perform office duties, typing, filing, correspondence, mail, office machines, etc.
  • Shall prepare timesheets for extra-contractual pay, substitutes, playground supervision, etc.
  • Shall act as liaison between school, parent, teachers, students, and public.
  • Shall handle general first aid.
  • Shall assist in preparation of school opening and closing.
  • Shall compile, distribute, and enter all registration maties in MiSTAR
  • Shall requisition, distribute, and keep records of stockroom supplies, books and workbooks, also budgeting and inventory.
  • Shall prepare reports.
  • Shall schedule appointments for the elementary principal.
  • Shall record child accounting and attendance.
  • Shall practice positive public relations with parents, pupils, and employees.
  • Shall perform any other related duties assigned by the building principal.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Successful completion of district approved clerical assessment.

Preferred Skills

Knowledgeable in the use and operation of office machines; strong computer skills.

Working Schedule and Rate of Pay

8 hours per day, 42 weeks per year; working hours 8AM-4PM

Pay rate as listed in collective bargaining agreement

New employee starting hourly rate $19.76

Position to start In 26-27 school year
