    Job Summary: BCSC is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to serve in our elementary Behavioral Support Program (BASE). This program is designed to provide behavioral and instructional support for students in a structured and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate is skilled in behavior intervention, relationship-building, differentiated instruction, and is committed to helping students develop the academic, behavioral, and interpersonal skills necessary for success in school and beyond.     Qualifications:

    1. Education: Bachelors and/or Masters Degree

    2. License: Valid Indiana State Teaching License in the area of Special Education or Eligibility to participate in an alternative licensure process

    Elementary Behavioral Special Education Teacher

    Description of Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with Indiana Article 7 and state standards
    • Design and deliver differentiated instruction based on student needs
    • Implement evidence-based behavior intervention plans (BIPs) with fidelity
    • Utilize positive behavior supports and trauma-informed practices to create a safe and structured classroom environment
    • Collect and analyze data on student academic and behavioral progress to inform instruction and interventions
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion opportunities when appropriate
    • Work closely with related service providers to support student goals
    • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, strategies, and supports
    • Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional learning opportunities
    • Supervise paraprofessionals within the classroom
    • Assist in developing and maintaining a structured classroom environment
