General SummaryProvides technical support and assistance to the physician during Electrophysiology procedures. Performs scrub hemodynamic monitoring stimming and circulating with all Electrophysiology procedures using clinical knowledge technical skills and professional judgement in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols. Provides care assessment prior during and post-procedural instruction to patients. Prepares and maintains all pertinent information related to procedures.

Essential FunctionsDemonstrates proficiency in relevant radiation safety.

Monitors and assess clinical status of patient.

Monitors and manages cardiovascular hemodynamics.

Practices within the scope of Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS protocols when administering emergency care.

Advises patient care team and cares for patients appropriately.

Demonstrates proficiency with the setup and operation of all equipment associated with cardiac electrophysiology procedures.

Demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy physiology radiation safety interventional supplies and equipment operation.

Recognizes and resolves equipment problems and discrepancies.

Anticipates patient needs and concerns and communicates the appropriate care needed.

Demonstrates professional judgement and critical thinking.

Scrubs in and assists physicians with procedures when necessary.

Circulates within procedure room and procures equipment required for any given procedure.

Operates the cardiac stimulator proficiently and independently for ablation procedures.

Assumes late call responsibilities as required.

Follows radiation safety policies as dictated by the NRC and York Hospitals Radiation Safety Committee.

Properly handles and processes electronic record data and images in each respective system.

Performs tasks and duties in the prep and recovery areas of the department.

Attains Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist RCES certification within 3 year of hire date.

Common ExpectationsDemonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population.

Assess and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate age specific treatment.Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age groups.Demonstrates a commitment to patient visitor and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors reporting actual and potential errors as well as hazardous conditions identifying opportunities to standardize processes and error proof systems that will lead to increased safety and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.

Maintains established policies and procedures objectives quality assessment safety environmental and infection control standards.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature in-service meetings and workshops.Provides outstanding service to all customers fosters teamwork and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

QualificationsMinimum EducationCertificate Program Certificate program in a health science includes but not limited to cardiovascular technology radiologic technology Licensed Practical Nurse or Nurse. Required orAssociates Degree Degree granting program in a health science includes but not limited to cardiovascular technology radiologic technology Licensed Practical Nurse or Nurse. Required

Work ExperienceLess than 1 year Relevant experience. Preferred and1 year Electrophysiology andor Cath Lab experience or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology. Preferred
