Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Technician in Riviera Beach, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support advanced underwater mission systems through precision electronics assembly, soldering, wire-harness fabrication, troubleshooting, inspection, and field-service activities. The technician will also support prototype builds and low-rate production while working closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.

Required Skills

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent military/industry technical training.
  • 3+ years of hands-on electronics assembly experience.
  • IPC-A-610 soldering experience.
  • Experience with surface-mount, through-hole, and BGA soldering.
  • Experience fabricating, stripping, crimping, terminating, and assembling wire harnesses.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and bills of material.
  • Experience using soldering irons, hot-air stations, reflow ovens, crimping tools, and wire-stripping equipment.
  • Experience using test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and continuity testers.
  • Ability to perform continuity and insulation-resistance testing.
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and reworking electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to maintain accurate technical and corrective-action documentation.
  • Ability to work in ESD-controlled and cleanroom environments.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to three continuous weeks per assignment.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance if required.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 30 pounds for extended periods.

Preferred Skills

  • J-STD-001 certification or experience.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or experience.
  • OSHA safety certification.
  • Fiber-optic termination experience with LC, SC, MPO, or similar connectors.
  • Fiber-optic splicing experience.
  • Experience using optical power meters and Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR).
  • Experience with molding or potting processes used to create watertight cable assemblies.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform hand soldering on printed circuit boards, cable assemblies, and connectors.
  • Assemble, crimp, terminate, and inspect wire harnesses.
  • Perform visual and electrical inspections to verify compliance with quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective electronic assemblies.
  • Perform rework and document corrective actions.
  • Support prototype builds and low-rate production activities.
  • Maintain ESD-controlled and cleanroom work areas.
  • Perform final cable-assembly processing, including molding and potting for watertight barriers.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and supply chain personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Travel to customer or field locations to establish workstations, perform onsite repairs, and provide technical support.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Full-time onsite in Riviera Beach, Florida.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required for up to three continuous weeks per assignment.

Pay

  • $22.00–$25.00 per hour.
