Electronics Technician IV

Location: Fridley, MN (Fully Onsite)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Standard Business Hours

Pay Rate: $38/$40hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician IV to support product development, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities within a laboratory environment. This role requires strong hands-on electronics experience, including circuit board assembly, hardware testing, soldering, and rework of electronic components. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with engineering teams to support product development and root cause investigations while maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic components, circuit boards, and systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
  • Perform hardware testing using oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, AC/DC loads and sources, data acquisition systems, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Support thermal, environmental, and validation testing activities.
  • Assist with EMI/EMC testing and related test procedures.
  • Build prototypes, wire harnesses, test fixtures, and test samples.
  • Perform soldering and surface-mount rework, including fine-pitch electronic components.
  • Verify calibration status of equipment and execute testing according to approved procedures.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test results; prepare technical reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain test records, laboratory documentation, and equipment logs.
  • Collaborate with engineers to support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and product development efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related engineering field.
  • Hands-on experience in electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and electronic test equipment.
  • Strong soldering and surface-mount rework skills.
  • Experience working in a laboratory or hardware testing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing.
  • Experience operating environmental test chambers.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and validation testing methodologies.
  • IPC soldering or electronics certifications.

Manager's Top Priorities

  • Surface-mount soldering and rework experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Proficiency using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other electronic laboratory equipment.
