Description

We are seeking an Electronics Worker I to support electronic assembly, rework, repair, and sustainment operations at a Modernization and Sustainment facility in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The role involves assembling and modifying circuit cards, cables, wire harnesses, chassis, and electronic/mechanical assemblies while following detailed work instructions, wiring diagrams, schematics, and production documentation.

This position offers the potential to transition into a regular full-time role based on business needs and performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble, modify, rework, and repair electronic assemblies. 
  • Perform PCB/circuit card assembly using through-hole and surface-mount components. 
  • Perform component replacement, upgrades, modifications, soldering, and touch-up. 
  • Prepare wires and cables and perform point-to-point wiring, crimping, soldering, and harness assembly. 
  • Assemble cabinets, chassis, consoles, racks, and other electronic equipment. 
  • Perform mechanical assembly activities including potting, encapsulation, bonding, curing, sanding, cleaning, stamping, etching, and color coding. 
  • Read and follow process routings, wiring diagrams, schematics, production plans, and written/verbal instructions. 
  • Operate equipment used for soldering, desoldering, pressing, shaping, winding, and component placement. 
  • Perform in-process inspections and self-checks before formal testing and inspection. 
  • Assist with conformal coating, potting, encapsulation, and other intermediate assembly processes. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. 
  • Accurately complete required production and SPC/data collection activities. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • 2+ years of experience in electronic assembly, rework, repair, or a closely related field preferred. 
  • Hands-on experience with soldering and cable/harness assembly. 
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and process routings. 
  • Knowledge of electronic components and proper component handling. 
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete production/data documentation. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required solder certifications. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
