The Electronics Technician tests, validates, repairs, and troubleshoots electronic modules and drives to the component level using automated test programs, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics. This role documents all test results accurately, supports multiple product lines, and contributes directly to improving quality, reliability, and turnaround time for customers in automotive, electric vehicles, industrial systems, and transportation applications.

Responsibilities

  • Test and validate electronic modules and drives using automated test programs, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Document all test and validation results clearly and accurately for traceability and quality purposes.
  • Repair and troubleshoot modules and drives down to the component level, identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
  • Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and current meters to diagnose and verify circuit performance.
  • Perform soldering and de-soldering on through-hole and surface-mount components for module repair.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics, visual prints, and work instructions in English to perform diagnostics and repairs.
  • Apply knowledge of safe working practices when working with electrical systems up to 690 VAC and 1100 VDC.
  • Use small hand tools and power tools for mechanical and electrical assembly as needed.
  • Follow established procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and manual dexterity when handling components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals and customer deadlines.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities while remaining self-directed and self-motivated.
  • Support efforts to reduce lead times and improve on-time delivery performance.
  • Participate in safety practices and apply safety training related to electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Contribute to a professional, respectful, and family-oriented work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

Essential Skills

  • Associate degree in a 2-year technical program such as electronics, electromechanical technology, or equivalent military program experience, or active enrollment with at least one year completed in an electronics program.
  • Ability to troubleshoot circuit boards to the component level.
  • Ability to use electronic tools including voltmeters and current meters.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, visual prints, and work instructions in English.
  • Working knowledge of small hand tools and power tools used in mechanical and electrical assembly.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, test systems, and work instructions.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in appearance, speech, manner, and communication.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and excellent attendance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform light to medium duty work, including frequent standing, bending, pulling, and carrying basic equipment, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely with electrical systems up to 690 VAC and 1100 VDC.
  • Ability to handle pressure, adversity, and change with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a self-directed and self-motivated manner.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience as an electronics technician or in a related role is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with module repair, including soldering and de-soldering through-hole and surface-mount components.
  • Experience with testing electronic drives is a plus.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, probe testing, and other electronics testing tools.
  • Experience using LabVIEW or similar automated test software is beneficial.
  • Safety training and awareness around electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Exposure to industries such as automotive, electric vehicles, drones, paper mills, metal processing, mining, or rail systems is advantageous.
  • Interest in ongoing learning and professional development, including leveraging tuition reimbursement opportunities once hired.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean manufacturing facility and office environment focused on high-quality electronic products. The team supports multiple product lines, including applications in automotive, electric vehicles, industrial processes, and transportation systems, providing broad exposure to different technologies and departments. The work is performed on a first-shift schedule, with standard hours of either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. During the contract-to-hire period, paid time off begins accruing after 30 days, including holiday pay and accrual of one hour of paid time off for every 40-hour work week. The environment emphasizes meeting client deadlines, reducing lead times, and working collaboratively to achieve team goals. The culture is family-oriented and supportive, with growth opportunities across 4-5 product lines and visibility into other departments and roles, as well as tuition reimbursement once hired. Work typically involves light to medium physical activity, including frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs, while using electronic test equipment, small hand tools, and power tools in a safety-focused setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franksville, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
