Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician II / Aircraft Electrician II to support aircraft electrical installation and modification activities on C-130J aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in avionics, aircraft electrical systems, wire harness installation, cable routing, termination, and testing.
The selected candidate will install, modify, inspect, and test aircraft electrical wiring and components while following engineering drawings, technical manuals, safety procedures, and established quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Install, route, terminate, and test aircraft electrical cables, wiring harnesses, and components on C-130J aircraft.
Work with Fiber Optic, 1553 Data Bus, RF, Twinax, Triax, Quadrax, and Ethernet cables.
Remove and install aircraft components as required.
Interpret engineering drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, routing drawings, and harness assembly drawings.
Read and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and installation specifications.
Perform aircraft modification and electrical installation activities in accordance with approved procedures.
Conduct continuity checks and cable/harness checkout procedures.
Use hand tools, power tools, work stands, support equipment, special tools, and calibrated test equipment.
Follow safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized, FOD-free work area.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with government regulations and company procedures.
Perform physical tasks, including working overhead and accessing confined areas of aircraft.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of avionics experience in Communications/Navigation, Guidance Control, Electronic Warfare, Electro/Environmental, or an equivalent field.
Strong ability to read and interpret aircraft electrical drawings.
Experience equivalent to a USAF 7-Level Craftsman or demonstrated equivalent technical proficiency.
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to follow technical instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety requirements.
Ability to perform the physical activities required for aircraft installation and maintenance work.
Preferred Qualifications
Heavy avionics and aircraft electrical wire routing and installation experience.
Military or commercial aircraft modification and installation experience.
Experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting aircraft wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.
Knowledge of continuity testing and aircraft electrical checkout procedures.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, symbols, flags, and general notes.
Previous experience working on C-130J aircraft.
Active Secret security clearance preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, crawl, stoop, twist, and work overhead.
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work in and around aircraft while following established safety procedures.
