Electronics Technician

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an Electronic Technician job in Bloomfield, CT. This CONTRACT job is available with one of our key customers in the elevators, escalators, and moving walkway industry. In this role, you will support the development, testing, and maintenance of electronic control systems used in legacy and next-generation elevator products. To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience with printed circuit boards (PCBs), electronic testing, and laboratory equipment. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in electrical engineering CAD tools and hands-on PCB fabrication and test processes.  

 Electronic Technician job Responsibilities:

• Assemble, fabricate, and test prototype printed circuit boards (PCBs), including component sourcing, bill of materials (BOM) management, soldering, firmware installation, and functional testing.
• Design and build test circuits and equipment to support the development and validation of elevator control systems and related subsystems.
• Evaluate replacement solutions for obsolete electronic components, verify electrical and mechanical compatibility, and maintain engineering documentation.
• Perform first article inspections, conduct root-cause analysis on returned assemblies, and document findings to improve product quality and reliability.
• Maintain the engineering laboratory by coordinating equipment calibration, managing test equipment, and replenishing lab supplies.
• Support the maintenance and repair of electronic test equipment and simulators used for elevator, escalator, and other electronic systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting aptitude.
• Experience with electrical CAD software and PCB fabrication processes.
• Hands-on experience using laboratory instruments, electronic test equipment, and hand tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
