    Electronics Repair Technician

    Field Service Technician / Electronics Repair Technician

    Cirris, Inc. is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician III / Electronics Repair Technician to join our team. This role provides advanced repair, calibration, troubleshooting, technical support, and customer service for Cirris test equipment and related partner products. The ideal candidate brings strong electronics repair experience, sound technical judgment, clear communication, and a commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    About the Role

    In this position, you will support both in-house and occasional on-site service needs by diagnosing equipment issues, completing repairs and preventive maintenance, documenting service activity, preparing repair quotes as needed, and communicating clearly with customers, Sales, and internal stakeholders.

    • Repair, maintain, calibrate, and verify current, legacy, and future models of Cirris test equipment and related partner products in accordance with approved safety, quality, and repair procedures.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic equipment issues using appropriate tools and methods.
    • Provide advanced product and service information to customers and internal stakeholders, responding to questions and explaining repair findings, recommendations, timelines, and next steps clearly and professionally.
    • Use CRM, service systems, internal knowledge bases, and applicable external resources to document repair activity, track open issues, communicate status, and provide accurate technical solutions.
    • Prepare repair quotes and product or service quote information as needed in coordination with Sales and other internal teams.
    • Prioritize and manage multiple repair, calibration, and customer support issues at one time while meeting commitments and escalating concerns appropriately.
    • Support customer relationship management by helping resolve customer concerns, defusing service challenges professionally, and strengthening trust through timely follow-through.
    • Continuously improve repair workflows, documentation, and service practices to reduce costs, shorten repair times, improve throughput, and enhance customer experience.
    • Train or assist other technicians on repair, calibration, verification, and service procedures for Cirris and partner products, whether at Cirris or other approved facilities.
    • Assist with production or equipment support activities as needed based on business needs and service priorities.
    • Follow applicable company policies, safety procedures, quality requirements, regulatory expectations, and required authorization processes for exceptions to mandatory procedures.
    • Travel occasionally, generally 10% or less, to provide on-site repair, calibration, technical support, or repair training services as needed.

    What We're Looking For

    • Post-secondary technical education, certificate, associate degree, or equivalent practical training in electronics, electrical technology, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience repairing, troubleshooting, calibrating, or supporting electronic equipment required; five or more years in electronics repair or a related technical service role preferred.
    • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

    Travel

    Occasional travel may be required, generally 10% or less, for on-site repair, calibration, technical support, or repair training services.

    • Customer focus and ability to build customer loyalty through respectful, timely, and solution-oriented service interactions.
    • Effective verbal, written, and digital communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Accountability and follow-through in meeting commitments, documenting work, and owning assigned repairs or service issues.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize work, and coordinate with support services, Sales, and other team members as needed.
    • Working knowledge of safe systems of work, applicable safety procedures, and proper use of required tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
    • Ability to navigate customer challenges professionally, including listening nondefensively, setting expectations, defusing frustration, and escalating appropriately.
    • Commitment to continuous learning, process improvement, accuracy, quality, and service excellence.

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment

    • Physical demands: Regularly lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Regularly use hands and wrists for computer work, tools, and equipment handling. Must be able to twist, reach overhead, crawl, stoop, bend, and access equipment or work areas as required by the job.
    • Communication requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and vendors by phone, video, electronic communication, and in person, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Visual requirements: Must be able to read written materials, instructions, measurement data, computer screens, service documentation, labels, and equipment indicators, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Working conditions: Work is typically performed in a clean repair, service, office, or light manufacturing environment. The employee may occasionally work in a manufacturing or customer site environment and may have limited exposure to fumes, dust, noise, tools, equipment, or other conditions consistent with repair and technical service work.
