PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Fabrication Technician in Grand Prairie, Texas for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will fabricate, solder, wire, and assemble circuit cards, wiring harnesses, subassemblies, and cabinet-level electrical equipment. The technician will work from engineering drawings and schematics while collaborating with engineers, fabricators, procurement personnel, and quality inspectors.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 4–6 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a fabrication environment such as cable and wire harness fabrication, SMT circuit board fabrication, or maintenance of military-designed products.
- Prior soldering and wire-harness certification to applicable MIL-STD requirements.
- Experience placing and soldering components onto circuit cards and subassemblies.
- Experience fabricating wiring harnesses, including connector pinning and de-pinning and installation of mounting hardware.
- Experience fabricating electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to communicate design or process issues clearly to engineers and management, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience using software tools and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Safety shoes are required.
Preferred Skills
- J-STD-001 soldering certification.
- IPC-7711/IPC-7721 certification or experience.
- Experience with procurement and acquisition of test materials.
- Experience interpreting and building test equipment from aerospace and defense engineering documentation.
What You’ll Do
- Place and solder electronic components onto circuit cards and electrical subassemblies.
- Fabricate cable and wire harnesses, including connector pinning, de-pinning, and installation of mounting hardware.
- Assemble lower-level electrical components into single- and multi-bay cabinet assemblies.
- Build electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and fabrication instructions.
- Deliver completed assemblies for engineering or manufacturing production use.
- Identify and communicate design, fabrication, and process issues to engineers and management.
- Collaborate with engineers, other fabricators, drafting personnel, procurement, and quality inspectors.
- Perform fabrication work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Work Schedule / Shift
- Minimum 40 hours per week.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
