    Description

    We are seeking an Engineering Technician Contractor to support our engineering team. This contract position involves a variety of hands-on technical tasks and requires an individual who can work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include a broad range of Electronics, Electromechanical, Information Technology, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently, and have a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Soldering specialist with experience of precision soldering and rework of fine pitch surface mount parts on dense PCBAs.
    • Assembly and fabrication: assist in design and assembly of prototypes and testing equipment.
    • Shipping and Receiving Assistance: Help with the coordination and handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper storage and documentation.
    • Workspace Maintenance: Maintaining an inventory of lab equipment and tracking a calibration schedule, make sure the lab is stocked with standard supplies like solder, wire, ESD straps, cables, batteries, etc., keeping the lab and work environment tidy and organized, adhering to safety protocols and standards.
    • Equipment Handling and Installation: Move and install computer systems, servers, and switches as required, and perform efficient cabling for optimal system setup, installing firmware upgrades on test equipment
    • Kick off tests and regressions

    Qualifications:

    • Educational Background: technical degree or certification in electronics, soldering (CIS) certification preferred.
    • Technical Skills: Strong skills in soldering, understanding of lab equipment, computer hardware, networking equipment, cabling techniques and solid understanding of ESD safety practices in an electronics lab environment.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
    • AA degree is a requirement
