Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our San Diego, CA campus.

You will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a key effort to develop, integrate and maintain the product system. You will contribute to the overall development of Mission Systems and should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures. • Implementing engineering changes to the system as required. • Integrating and testing network software and/or hardware systems in complex network systems. • Working closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment. • Planning, communicating, and documenting network tasks. • Configuring and troubleshooting common network devices such as Cisco IOS.

You will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. Once established in role, the position could potentially offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at managers discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Masters degree in a STEM discipline. • Understanding of IP4 networks, Ethernet, UDP and TCP/IP. • Familiar with Cisco Hardware, data centers, and network cabling • Familiar with Windows and Linux configuration and troubleshooting. • Familiar with AGILE processes and SCRUM tools (JIRA, Confluence). • DODD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+. • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) with ability to Obtain Top Secret Clearance. • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). • Understanding of IP subnetting and routing protocols including OSPF and EIGRP. • Knowledge on Virtualization (e.g. VMware). • Knowledge on tactical wireless communications technologies (e.g. LOS, BLOS).
