Position Overview
JIRACOR is seeking experienced Electronics Assembly Technicians to support upcoming production and assembly requirements at our Orlando facility.
These positions are temporary and project-based, with the duration of employment dependent upon production schedules, customer requirements, and project workload.
The ideal candidate will have five (5) or more years of hands-on electronics assembly experience, preferably within aerospace, defense, military, aviation, or another high-reliability environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic and electromechanical components, equipment, and systems
- Fabricate and assemble cable and wire harnesses
- Cut, strip, crimp, route, terminate, label, and bundle wires and cables
- Install connectors, contacts, terminals, backshells, and associated hardware
- Perform soldering of electronic components, terminals, connectors, and wiring
- Perform electronic and electromechanical assembly
- Support circuit card assembly and related production activities
- Perform mechanical assembly, box builds, and equipment integration
- Install components into enclosures, panels, racks, and other assemblies
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, bills of material, and work instructions
- Perform in-process and final visual inspections
- Identify workmanship issues and nonconforming conditions
- Use soldering equipment, crimpers, wire strippers, torque tools, precision hand tools, and other assembly equipment
- Maintain accurate production, inspection, and traceability documentation
- Follow ESD handling and contamination-control requirements
- Comply with JIRACOR quality, safety, assembly, and configuration-control procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized technical certification or certificate program in electronics assembly, electronics technology, soldering, cable and wire harness assembly, electromechanical assembly, or a closely related technical discipline
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant hands-on experience in electronics assembly, cable/wire harness fabrication, circuit card assembly, or electromechanical assembly
- Demonstrated experience with soldering, crimping, wiring, termination, and electronic/electromechanical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and detailed work instructions
- Experience working with electronic components, connectors, wiring, cables, and associated hardware
- Knowledge of electronics workmanship and quality requirements
- Experience using electronic assembly tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
- Dependable attendance and ability to support established production schedules

- IPC-A-610 – Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 – Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
- J-STD-001 Space Addendum
- High-reliability soldering
- Cable and wire harness fabrication
- Circuit card assembly
- ESD handling and control
- Aerospace or defense experience
- Experience working within an AS9100 quality environment
- Box builds and electromechanical integration
- Inspection and acceptance of electronic assemblies
Technical Training
Candidates should have successfully completed a formal technical certificate, certification, vocational, or workforce training program providing hands-on instruction in electronics assembly or a related technical field.
Equivalent military technical training or recognized industry training may also be considered.
Work Environment
This position is performed on-site at JIRACOR's Orlando, Florida facility. Employees work in a controlled electronics assembly environment and must comply with applicable safety, quality, ESD, security, and production procedures.
Employment Duration
This position supports specific production requirements and is expected to be a temporary/project-based assignment.
Assignment duration and scheduled work hours will depend upon project and production requirements. Qualified individuals may be considered for future assignments or regular employment opportunities as JIRACOR's workload develops.
Citizenship / Export-Control Requirements
Because JIRACOR supports U.S. Government and defense programs and may handle export-controlled technical information, candidates must meet applicable U.S. export-control and contractual eligibility requirements for the work assigned.
