As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-2610-12/13, you will install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
Military Grades: Enlisted Only - Minimum rank requirement of A1C & May not exceed the rank of TSgt.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-13 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includesexperience or training demonstrating the ability to repair, overhaul, rebuild, align, and adjust complete multi-systems-such as electronics packages on highly automated aircraft where functions like target acquisition, weapons control, aircraft attitude control, and navigation are performed by multiple interconnected systems with feedback loops-by applying comprehensive knowledge of all major units, their independent functions, subsystem interfaces, and interactions; determining proper operational sequencing to pinpoint malfunctions; applying extensive practical knowledge of electromagnetic propagation, electronic circuits, computer theory, and hydraulic/pneumatic power systems; understanding interactions among closely integrated systems; using trigonometry to calculate power relationships and signal phasing; interpreting multisystem drawings including complex interconnections; isolating malfunctions across integrated fire control, bombing-navigation, flight control, countermeasures, or similar systems; determining repair methods for complex circuit relationships; and performing on- or off-equipment maintenance on complete electronic integrated systems such as automatic flight control, instrument, inertial, or radar navigation systems. WG-12 Level - MUST experience or training demonstrating the ability to repair, align, and adjust major integrated electronic systems such as inertial navigation, automatic flight control, or fire control systems; extensive knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to understand and predict progressive effects of malfunctions across interrelated units and assist lower-grade employees; thorough knowledge of electronic theories and practices applied to complex integrated systems such as fire control, inertial navigation, or automatic landing control; broad knowledge of radar, digital/analog computers, and display devices and the technology that integrates these into a functional system; knowledge of algebra and basic trigonometry to adapt formulas; ability to follow drawings for integrated systems and trace subsystem interactions; and the ability to diagnose and determine necessary repairs for malfunctions where full-system knowledge is required to interpret error data and trace deficiencies.
