Class Definition

Graduation from an accredited high school with courses in typing and/or data processing; certification in digital court reporting program or college degree preferred. Experience such as may have been gained by employment in a position requiring electronic and/or video reporting equipment. Or any combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to the above.

Supplemental Information

The Electronic Court Reporter electronically records and transcribes verbatim live court proceedings using digital recording equipment. Provides transcripts or copies of audio files upon request; labels, controls, and stores records; prepares and maintains a proceeding log; performs minor maintenance on equipment and corrects minor malfunctions; proofreads original transcripts to ensure accuracy; maintains accurate files and records of work in progress and completed work; works in office when not in courtroom; and performs any and all related duties as may be assigned by the Family Court Chief Judge or Administrator/Chief of Staff.
