PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronic Assembler in Austin, Texas for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform hands-on mechanical and electronic assembly, disassembly, modification, and inspection of production subassemblies while following detailed work plans, drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of work experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Experience performing hands-on assembly or manufacturing work.
- Ability and willingness to become solder certified.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing data collection or MRP systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing production requirements.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Skills
- 3+ years of electronic assembly experience.
- IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-883 Methods 2021 and 2017.
- Solder reflow experience.
What You'll Do
- Assemble, disassemble, and modify electronic and mechanical production subassemblies.
- Follow established work plans, drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
- Inspect completed assembly work to verify conformance with applicable requirements.
- Perform detailed production assembly activities while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Use manufacturing systems for MRP transactions, production documentation, and data collection.
- Work with production team members to meet quality, schedule, and manufacturing requirements.
- Learn and apply new assembly methods, technologies, and processes as production needs evolve.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 1st shift, Monday Thursday.
- Four 10-hour shifts per week.
- Typical hours: 5:30 AM 4:00 PM.
- Overtime may be required.
